Add sequential page numbers to a PDF
Add PDF page numbers. Choose a starting number and top or bottom position, continuing sequentially across selected pages.
1. Add and arrange files
2. Prepare your PDF
For photos, each JPG/PNG becomes one centered A4 page. Max 25 megapixels per image. Transparent PNGs use a white page.
Elements are added as a transparent image layer to the pages selected in the file list. The underlying text remains. A white box is not secure redaction. New text is not selectable; existing PDF content stays underneath.
Check the output before using it. Text extraction uses selectable text only; scanned pages need OCR. It does not compress or edit existing text.
How to use this tool
Numbers are placed at the top or bottom center of the visible page, accounting for rotation and cropping. Unselected pages remain without a new number; numbering advances only over selected pages. Existing numbers are not removed, so check that old and new numbering do not overlap.
- Choose your PDF files.
- Choose the starting number, top/bottom position and pages to number.
- Prepare, download and check the output in your own viewer.
